    You are correct the girls had a misconception here.
    2 - -6 = 8 not -4

  3. The last problem in the video is not correct. In reality: 2- -6= 8. First, if you subtract a negative it is like adding a positive. One way to think of it is that if you started the school day with two dollars (+2) in your pocket and a friend who owed you six dollars (-6) takes the debt away (-) by paying you that six dollars then you are left with eight dollars in your pocket.
